Craftsmanship at the Foundation
Before J Taylor Build grew into the company it is today, craftsmanship was at the heart of the work.
Director Joe Taylor was selected as a finalist in the Guild of Bricklayers competition, creating a large-scale brick portrait that was featured in the local press.
That same interest in traditional brickwork and design later led to commissioned work at Bursledon Brickworks, combining skilled brickwork with individually made bricks created by the local community.
That background in the craft still influences how we approach our projects today — attention to detail, pride in the finished work and doing things properly.
The work attracted attention from the BBC, Southern Daily Echo and several trade publications. Both projects can be explored in more detail below.
